What's the difference between access hours and office hours?
During access hours, you can use your gate code to access your storage unit 24 hours a day / 7 days a week / 365 days a year. During office hours, your Property Manager is available to provide in-person customer service (like answering questions, selling supplies, accepting rental payments and so on).

If I rent a storage unit from you, can my spouse, kids or friend have access, too?
When you rent from Rockford Self Storage, you can allow access for other people you specify (or restrict access only to yourself).

If I lose my key and/or access code, what do I do?
Call Rockford Self Storage anytime at 616-874-8989. Even after regular business hours or on weekends, our call center is there to serve you.

Do you require insurance on my stored goods?
You are responsible for the things you are storing at Rockford Self Storage and insurance for your stored belongings is important. You may be covered under an insurance policy you already have. Check with your insurance agent to be sure.

What kind of documentation do I need to provide to rent a storage unit?
You will need to provide a valid, government-issued form of identification (e.g., driver’s license, state ID or passport).

Do you have handcarts or dollies I can use at your facilities?
Yes. You’re welcome to use our complimentary carts and dollies while you’re at Rockford Self Storage.

What are the payment options?                                                                                                                                                         Here at Rockford Self Storage we try to make your storage experience hassle-free including paying your bill. Rental Agreements are month to month, but we offer a discount for prepaying 6 or 12 months. Checks can be mailed to us by you or your bank from your account or paid at our main office. Cash can be paid at our main office. We also accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, which can be set up on AutoPay (automatically charged to your account the 1st of each month) or called to us or paid in person at our main office.

Do I get a lock when I rent a unit?                                                                                                                                                    You can purchase a high security lock from Rockford Self Storage or use your own if it matches our required lock style. You keep the keys and lock to your unit. We do not keep keys to any unit unless a signed permission is given by tenant for things such as business deliveries.

Can I purchase boxes and other packing products?                                                                                                                          Most definitely! We offer a variety of packing products to help accomodate your storage needs.
